Although many people think that non-alcoholic wine is just unfermented grape juice, this is not the case. Quality non-alcoholic wine is actually made using the same processes as regular wine. Proper non-alcoholic wine is produced from wine that has been fermented with yeasts and has gone through the usual winemaking process – the alcohol is then removed using reverse osmosis or vacuum distillation. After alcohol removal, the taste of the drink is not exactly the same as “real” wine, but the flavor is restored using natural flavorings and special products to replicate the taste and aroma nuances lost during distillation.
